PC Builder Module
The PC Builder is an embedded module of the realshop4.net online store. Its purpose is to help your shoppers to choose compatible parts from your stock for their custom PC systems. It uses product database of the realshop4.net store as well as the shopping cart and checkout procedure.
The PC Builder module is easy to administrate because of its intelligent compatibility validator. The admin must only specify the type of contacts of the particular part in order to make it available for PC Builder. That's it. No need to manually specify compatibility of the given part with other parts available at stock.
Please consider following example. A new memory module needs to be registered with the PC Builder so your site shoppers could use it in their custom configurations.
The only thing that needs to be done is specify that the part has a single contact of type DDR400 also compatible with DDR333. The PC Builder's intelligent validator will automatically determine compatible motherboards, so motherboards that work with DDR400 or DDR333 memory modules.
At the same time other pc builders available on market will require the store admin to manually define the compatibility of this memory module with all motherboard available at stock (and you can have dozens of them!)
Customer Interface
Wizard-style interface
Shopper can get helpfull information about any product type (processor, motherboard, etc..) at any time.
Full product information (including pictures) about any part can be shown at any time in the popup window.
Example: If a Socket 487 CPU was choused, then only Socket 487 motherboards will be shown on the next wizard step.
Example: if the motherboard has three PCI slots, the shopper will not be allowed to choose more than three PCI extension cards.
Example: if the motherboard with an embedded soundcard is chosen, the shopper is warned that there is no need to buy a separate soundcard.
Example: The motherboard ABIT BE7 has three memory slots but the maximum installable memory is limited to 2 GB ( i845PE chipset limitation). The PC Builder will allow the shopper to choose up to three memory modules with the maximum total memory amount up to 2 GB.
The list of available parts on every step can be narrowed by product group or manufacturer. Example: HDD list can be narrowed by type (IDE or SATA) and then by manufacturer (Maxtor, Western Digital, etc)
The list of chosen parts is always viewable and the current total price is shown at the bottom of the list. Shopper can click on any item in the list in order to get a full item description.
On the last step the chosen configuration is transferred to the shopping cart of the realshop4.net store automatically. The customer can then continue shopping or proceed to checkout.
